The Top-Dog pack of wines is a collection of our 2 GOLD Medal winners and BEST IN CLASS winner, Master Blend. The wines included are Vintner’s Barrel Reserve (GOLD), Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 “Lightning” (GOLD) and Cabernet Sauvignon, Master Blend (BEST IN CLASS).
Wine competitions are judged blindly by a panel of judges tasting wine in flights and given bronze, silver or gold. A wine that receives unanimous gold from the panel is considered “Double Gold”. The Double Gold winners are then tasted again the following day and a single wine is selected as the best of the category and given the title “BEST IN CLASS”.
All of these wines are Bold Reds with Master Blend being a Cabernet Sauvignon made of 3 different vintages (2018, 2019, 2020) from the same Alexander Valley vineyard. “Lightning” is the Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 (a key ingredient of Master Blend above!) and the Vintner’s Barrel Reserve is a Red Blend that has a main ingredient of Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.
